Hello friends! My name is Melissa, and I'm a graduate of Monash University's Digital Arts degree, Caulfield, now working as a web designer at Mentor Technology, and previously at REA Group/HubOnline. I know to some extent how to use the following software:

After Effects Dreamweaver Flash Illustrator Photoshop Premiere Encore Joomla! Aliasstudio Maya HTML/CSS FontLab Studio

Recently I've made the move from animation into online media to learn more about the guts of websites, and in the process I have picked up some basic ASP and javascript (jQuery) capability, further expanding my skillset. While animation will always be my passion, online media plays such a crucial role in design that I couldn't help but learn more about it.

I have always been passionate about art and design, but it was only in year 12 that I actually began using computers to produce digital art. On my slow chunky PII lappy with Arcsoft PhotoStudio 2.0 (which had no layer support at that time!) in a stuffy portable classroom at Yea High School, I made my very first steps into the digital arts realm. Now, seven years on I love making animation, digital stills, websites, and Flash UIs.

Things you'll love about me:

  • I am highly organised, brilliant at planning and proactive when taking on projects
  • I really, really do care about my clients and the quality of my work
  • I love keeping up-to-date with the industry, especially learning new technologies that make my work more streamlined and standards compliant,
  • I love researching all sorts of topics, even things far outside my field
  • I have excellent verbal and written communication, and know how to communicate my ideas effectively in my team and to my clients
  • I have a positive outlook, a tempered disposition, and put a high value on team morale.
